Neighborhood Development Center (NDC) is pleased to welcome Laura Otieno as the organization’s new Human Resources Manager. 

Laura joins NDC with more than 10 years of experience in human resources, people operations, and organizational leadership across nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions. Throughout her career, she has focused on supporting employees, strengthening organizational systems, and helping mission-driven organizations operate effectively and sustainably. 

Laura brings extensive experience in nonprofit operations and a deep commitment to fostering collaborative, inclusive workplace cultures. She holds a Master of Nonprofit Management and is known for her thoughtful approach to balancing employee experience, compliance, and organizational impact. 

Reflecting on her new role, Laura shared: 

“My professional background has given me the opportunity to work in community-based organizations in the Twin Cities. I especially enjoy creating strong systems, supporting employees, and helping build workplace environments where people feel valued and equipped to do their best work. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and contributing to NDC!”
