Dale Street Village on University

As the outcome of development efforts started in 1996 to revitalize the intersection of University Avenue and Dale Street, a collaboration of five non-profit organizations (see below) gave birth to the Dale Street Village in University. It is a multi-use development that will occupy the northeast corner of the intersection. The project includes a mix of street-level commercial space, 60 units of senior rental housing and 24 units of condominiums. For an area best known for its adult theaters in the 80's and 90's, a project of this magnitude represents a significant accomplishment for residents and businesses of Frogtown and the city of St. Paul.

The project, expected to be completed in 2006, will bring a mix of housing, retail, food and entertainment to this prime location in the center of Saint Paul's fastest-growing community.

The lead developer of this endeavor is Greater Frogtown Community Development Corporation. 
NDC is only leading the commercial portion along with Model Cities of St. Paul Inc. Said portion features approximately 12,000 feet of street level commercial space in 2 buildings available in sizes from 1,400 sq ft to 6,000 sq ft. Zoning and designed is ideally suited for retail, office entertainment or restaurant enterprises and includes off-street parking for up to 70 vehicles.

NDC has committed $200,000 for training, lending & TA to support African American Businesses involved in this initiative and other areas of this intersection.
