Since 1993, NDC has trained over 2300 budding entrepreneurs to start or expand their existing businesses. As a result of the Entrepreneur Training Program, over 600 businesses started or were strengthened.

The Micro Entrepreneur Training Program is a 16-week course offered twice a year (in spring and fall cycles) in each community NDC serves. The training course consists of eight classroom sessions, and eight one-on-one sessions of individualized training and technical assistance. Classes are taught by professional small-business training consultants, and cover the fundamentals and techniques of marketing, operations, financial management and writing a solid business plan. Classroom and one-on-one sessions are held at one site in each various community.
