Class Size and Student Selection

 
In each class, there will be 8-10 business participants. All interested parties who submit an application will be interviewed by a committee made up of representatives of NDC, the Community Partner as well as the class trainer. After all applicants have been interviewed the committee will select students for the program based on the following criteria:

1. The participant lives or plans to open a business within one of the targeted neighborhoods (see Who We Serve section). If the applicant does not live in a targeted neighborhood, they will be required to pay the full fee for the class ($600) and will be reimbursed ($525, amount will vary depending on income category) once they open a business in a targeted neighborhood.
2. The participant has one focused idea of what kind of business they would like to pursue or expand.
3. The participant is willing to make every effort possible to attend class and meet the expectations of the trainer.
4. The participant understands the diligence and time a new or expanding business requires.
